The IMISC poster sessions are intended to showcase works-in- progress. Topics of interest are the same as those listed in the main track call for papers. We strongly encourage both student and industry submissions. Presenting a poster is a great opportunity, especially for students, to obtain interesting and valuable feedback on ongoing research from a knowledgeable crowd at the conference.

Posters should be accompanied by an extended abstract, which will be published in the conference proceedings. The posters submitted to IMISC 2018 must be original and cannot be concurrently submitted to other workshops or conferences during the IMISC 2018 poster review period. All dual submissions will be rejected without review.

Participants wishing to present a poster must consider the following:

  • You must submit the poster title and an abstract in PDF format that describes your work. The abstract should clearly state: (a) the problem being addressed, (b) what makes this problem interesting, (c) your approach, and (d) the key contribution.
  • It should be visually appealing, portraying ideas primarily via diagrams rather than text.
  • Posters will remain displayed throughout the conference.
  • Posters must be printed by authors prior to arrival at the conference.

Poster Guidelines

  • Posters having a size differing from ‘A0’ will not be accepted (A0: 841 x 1189 mm or 33.1 x 46.8 in).
  • The posters can be in portrait or landscape and printed on heavy-duty resistant paper or cardboard.
  • Poster title must be no more than 90 pt.
  • Other titles of the poster should be no more than 40 pt.
  • Author names, content and other information must be at least 18 pt.
  • The poster must also carry author name(s), the department/business unit, name of the institution and the conference logo.
  • Please print and bring your poster along to the conference.
  • The staff at the registration desk will provide you the exact position assigned to your poster and any necessary assistance.
  • As the local committee will only get to see your poster at the conference, the poster will only be allowed to be displayed at the conference subject to the approval provided, after a physical review of the poster is done at the conference by an appointed member (reviewer) of the local committee.
  • Your poster must not have any material that would be deemed offensive or unacceptable for public display in a conference (for example graphic depictions of nudity, violence, or even advertisement).
  • We reserve the right to not display the poster without having to specify a formal reason.
  • Posters must be removed by authors at the end of the conference. No posters will be stored or returned to authors if left behind following the conference.

Poster title and the abstract must be submitted via email.
