The 5^th International Conference on Management Information Systems (IMISC 2018) is an international forum for the presentation of new research results, systems and techniques in the broad field of management information systems.

Management information systems (MIS) as an academic discipline studies people, technology, organizations, and the relationships among them. As IMISC brings together main research groups working on the concept, along with many of the world’s leading companies, it has become the important annual conference for the presentation and discussion of management information systems research.

IMISC 2018, the fifth conference in this series, will be held in Ankara, Turkey. It will bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to present their latest results and identify new trends and challenges in providing information components in a range of innovative application contexts. In addition to the main technical track, IMISC 2018 program will feature keynote and invited talks, tutorials and workshops covering state-of-the-art in this domain, an industrial track, a junior faculty workshop and a doctoral consortium.

Published papers will go through a rigorous full peer review process. The conference proceedings will be available both on a USB drive and via the conference website.

Theme

The Intelligent Digital Mesh, “an entwining of people, devices, content and services”, is this year’s cross-cutting theme. It will explore the convergence of business and society in a digital world by means of artificial intelligence, immersive experiences, digital twins, event-thinking, continuous adaptive security, etc. to create a foundation for the next generation of digital business models and ecosystems.

Gartner calls the entwining of people, devices, content and services the intelligent digital mesh. It’s enabled by digital models, business platforms and a rich, intelligent set of services to support digital business.

Intelligent: How AI is seeping into virtually every technology and with a defined, well-scoped focus can allow more dynamic, flexible and potentially autonomous systems.

Digital: Blending the virtual and real worlds to create an immersive digitally enhanced and connected environment.

Mesh: The connections between an expanding set of people, business, devices, content and services to deliver digital outcomes.

Language

IMISC 2018 is a bi-lingual international conference. There will be various number of sessions which have presentations in English, or in Turkish. You can find information about the presentation language of the session by the language key, en for the session in English, and tr for the session in Turkish.
