Call for Papers

You are welcome to send your research papers related to Location Based Services to the 5th International Management Information Systems Conference Location Based Services Track.

Location-based services (LBS) services can be used in a variety of contexts, such as health, work, personal life, etc. LBS services include services to identify a location of a person or object, such as discovering the nearest banking cash machine or the whereabouts of a friend or employee. LBS services include parcel tracking and vehicle tracking services. LBS can include mobile commerce when taking the form of coupons or advertising directed at customers based on their current location. They include personalized weather services and even location-based games. They are an example of telecommunication convergence. This track invites applied research papers or case studies in IT and IS related with Location Based Services. Multidisciplinary studies are welcomed.

Biography of the Chair

Dr. Vahap Tecim is a professor and chair of Department of Management Information Systems in Dokuz Eylul University. Dr. Tecim’s research and teaching expertise include management information systems, geographical information systems, distance learning, systems analysis and design, and decision support systems.
